How shipping works at glowhood

Every product on glowhood is sourced from a single named maker. We do not warehouse inventory; each item ships from the maker's workshop or its authorized distributor. This means timing varies by maker.

When you place an order, we route the request to the maker the same day (or the next business day if you order on a weekend). The maker prepares your item — sometimes from stock, sometimes by making it — and ships it. We pay shipping costs to the maker on your behalf and bundle them into the price you see at checkout.

Where we ship

We ship anywhere the maker ships. For most items: United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and Japan. A few items (perishable foods like the South River miso, or controlled crafts like Wajima urushi lacquer) ship only to specific destinations during specific windows. Those restrictions are listed on the product page.

If you place an order to a destination the maker cannot serve, we will refund you in full and notify you within two business days.

Items that are made-to-order (e.g. Wajima urushi bowls, hand-dipped Mazzella tapers in specific colors) take additional time at the maker's end. The product page tells you when to expect a maker-time-plus-shipping window.

Shipping costs

The price you see at checkout includes shipping. We do not add shipping at the cart level for products under $200 within the US. International shipping is included in the displayed price for everything except weight-restricted items (e.g. ceramic pieces over 5 lb), where a single shipping line is added at checkout.

Tracking

You receive a tracking link by email when the maker ships. If a maker ships without tracking (some small studios still do), we let you know at the time of order and refund $5 of your order as compensation for the visibility loss.

Delays we cannot prevent

  • Customs holds (international orders): typically 1–7 days. We cooperate with customs documentation requests on your behalf.
  • Maker production delays: we email within 48 hours of learning a delay and offer cancellation with full refund.
  • Weather, regional postal disruptions: handled case-by-case.

Damaged or lost shipments

Email shipping@glowhood.xyz with your order number and a photo (if damaged) or the last tracking event (if lost). We open a claim with the carrier on your behalf within one business day. While the claim resolves, we either re-ship from the maker (if available) or refund in full — your choice.

Why this policy is shorter than most

We do not have hidden fees. We do not bury restrictions. The price on the product page is what you pay; the timeline on the product page is what you wait. If a maker cannot fulfill an order in the time we promised, you receive a full refund and a written apology.

The §0.5 line at the foot of every receipt — every sale funds one Finnish sauna session for one cancer patient — only holds if we treat the sale honestly to begin with.
